1929 Australia The six month timber workers strike ends in defeat as workers have to accept a 48 hour week.

1976 Poland When a price increase of 39% was announced, a strike spread across the country. It was in Ursus on the outskirts of Warsaw and in Radom that the movement was strongest. In Radom, the militia shoots at a crowd, killing 17 people.
