LabourStart in Numbers – December 2013
The previous month’s numbers are in brackets below.
Some highlights:
- Very big gains for our mailing lists — now well over 120,000 (121,362). Over 30% of all subscribers are to the non-English lists — 36,555.
- As I reported earlier, the ten-fold growth of the Korean list is a spectacular result of our most recent campaign — plus an effort by the teachers’ union there as well.
- On Facebook, our Group continues to grow considerably faster than our Page. And both are being outpaced by our growth on Twitter — now at 11,255 for the global English feed.
- Our statistics for web traffic show huge growth from Germany, Russia and Korea — no doubt due to our most recent campaigns.

When you have the time can you make another stab at expolaining the massive difference in website stats (1&1 versus Clicky)?
1&1 counts everything — so a vast number of the hits they’re counting are robotic visits to pages that don’t exist. The most popular page on our site, according to them, is the one that says something like ‘this page doesn’t exist’. The Clicky counter only appears on live pages and is more accurate.
Are the visits to LabourStartCampaigns.net consistant with the number of messages sent over the same period?
Yes — about 50,000 visits, and at least 25,000 messages sent, so that makes sense.
