I’m not at all concerned about the reduced numbers. We are, I suspect, seeing the inevitable ‘correction’ after the huge increase from the CUPW-Canada campaign. There were bound to be people who joined our campaign only to support CUPW and they are now taking themselves off our lists (esp. the English and French lists) as they receive messages about newer campaigns.
Also, our list does very ruthless bounce-processing, so it’s a clean list. We may have fewer addresses, but these are real addresses, they do not bounce. And let’s remember that it’s summer (in the northern hemisphere) and traditionally, people are on vacation, schools are closed, and so on. We should see a jump in numbers in my report on 1 October, when we have the September results.
