27-12-1913 Makhan Singh was born in India. He was deported to India and imprisoned for his role in the 1939 Mombasa General strike and translated Capital while in gaol. Returned to Kenya in 1947, led another Mombasa general strike, was imprisoned for 11 years. [more]
