From LabourStart senior correspondent Derek Blackadder:
We've come across a couple of examples of how the web is being used in
conjunction with evolving technology to organize progressives around the
world...or at least across a fairly large country. The model is traditional
radio and TV, but the politics and technology are a bit of a departure.
Independent World TV is a serious effort aimed at building a world-wide
alternative to commercial networks like CNN. The goal is a satellite
network with a serious presence on the web. It has serious backers and
funding. Check it out at http://www.iwtnews.com/
Rabble Radio is a Canadian pod caster, a project of rabble.ca, a
well-established progressive news site. Stories on the Pod cast parallel
those on the website, including the ever-popular 'Ask Auntie', an agony aunt
column for lefties.
