To all international trade unions

Subject: Hamas refused to give the PGFTU house back in Gaza Strip

Dear Brothers, comrades, friends,

After more than one month of negotiation with Hamas they refused to give the PGFTU house back to the trade unions and they insisted to keep the building which has been constructed by LO-Norway fund. They want to continue the work in the trade unions under their full control and sovereignty.

Since Hamas has occupied the PGFTU house all the activities of the trade unions stopped completely and all staff are asked to stay at home. Last week the PGFTU executive committee were informed that a decision by Hamas leaders has taken that they will keep the PGFTU house under their full control.

We appeal to all international trade unions to write letters of protest to Hamas and to Mr. Ismail Hania and to ask him to give the house back to the elected leaders and committees of the trade unions in order to resume the activities and serving the member workers in Gaza Strip The e-mail of the cabinet of minister in Gaza is (press@pomo.gov.ps)
