On Sunday, March 19, 2006, the remaining activists of the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company who were in prison, with the exception of Mansoor Osanloo, the president of the Board of Director of the Syndicate and Afshin Bahrami, an auto worker who was arrested for supporting the Vahed strikers, were released.
The released labour activists include union’s board members Gholam Reza Mirzaie, Mansoor Hayatgheibi and Satar Amini (a metal worker). On March 18th, Ebrahim Madadi, the Vice-President of the Syndicate, and Yaghoub Salimi, board members, were released.
