Update on union support following the natural disaster in South-East Asia

Many unions in Sweden are supporting aid organizations active in the catastrophe area in Asia.

For example --

Sif, Swedish White-Collar Union, gave 100 000 SEK. to the Red Cross.

Swedish Metalworkers union gave 1 000 000 SEK. and many of Metalworkers union regional divisions in Sweden also give economic support. Metalworkers local union at workplace level give varying economic support.

The Swedish MunicipalWorkers’ Union gave 1 200 000 sek.

The Building Workers´Union gave 200 000 SEK.

The Electricians´Union gave 200 000 SEK.

The Building Maintenance Workers´ Union gave 200 000 SEK.

The Painters´ Union gave 200 000 SEK.

The Paper Workers´ Union gave 100 000 SEK.

The Swedish Central Organization of Salaried Employees, TCO gave 250 000 SEK.

The Swedish Association of Health Professionals/Vårdförbundet gave 100 000 SEK.

In many places in Sweden the local unions collected money.

I hope this encourage you who read this to take action to support these devastated Asian regions and people with donations towards the massive relief efforts.
