Where trade unionists start their day on the net.
The campaign organized by Center for Trade Unions and Workers Services –Egypt succeeded in obtaining an annual allowance of 7% instead of 5% for the workers .
Yesterday a ministerial decree has been issued declaring the right of the workers to have 7% allowance .
The Center Launched this campaign since last January demanding for applying the articles of the new labour law that obligates the government to change the the allowance percentage from 5 to 7% .
In spite of the opposition of the government and the Egyptian Federation for Trade Unions our campaign preceded and grew stronger .
The center used many tools such as statements, stickers and meetings with the workers and some active trade unionists in different sectors .And also held some seminars to raise the workers awareness of their right to have the 7% allowance instead of 5%.
Our magazine “Workers, Speech “ clarified the workers demand of the allowance increase .
