European Unionists Meet to Discuss Emerging Global Labournet --
Lee's "3 Crazy Ideas" to be focus of one session
Norwegian trade unionist Odd Rudjord has informed us of a new course sponsored by the European Trade Union Education Network -- on the subject of "how to use electronic media within trade union education." The course follows up two earlier courses on the Internet and electronic publishing.
The course will be held in Florence, Italy, between March 1 and 4 and between March 15 and 18. According to Rudjord, "One of the items on the agenda is 'New internationalism' and all participants have been asked to read your new book ahead of this course . . . (Your "three crazy ideas" will be the theme of one
group work session.)"
Meanwhile, according to Pluto Press, British trade unionists are making increasing use of The Labour Movement and the Internet: The New Internationalism. According to a report recently received, "at a TUC conference in February called
'Organising for the Future' 22 copies of [The] Labour Movement and the Internet were sold. We are in touch with the TUC Education Centre in
London who have copies of the book to sell to individuals who go into the Centre and do computer related training courses."
