{"id":5073,"date":"2026-08-14T17:41:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T15:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=5073"},"modified":"2026-08-14T17:41:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T15:41:18","slug":"the-last-21-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=5073","title":{"rendered":"The last 21 days &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Podcasts<\/strong>: We have revived our podcasts.\u00a0 We released three podcasts in August so far and expect to do several more &#8212; we have been in touch with trade union leaders in Africa and Asia, arranging interviews.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzsprout.com\/2313632\">All our podcasts are here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Campaigns: <\/strong>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=5843\">Taiwan campaign<\/a> has <strong>3,022<\/strong> supporters and appears in\u00a0<strong>13<\/strong> languages.\u00a0 We are hoping to grow this, especially in the Chinese and Tagalog versions.\u00a0 We have already heard that the employer has been receiving our messages and is complaining to the union about this.\u00a0 Good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Climate crisis:\u00a0<\/strong>We are getting more involved in this, including planning to do some work around COP31 and the People&#8217;s Climate Summit in Turkey in November.\u00a0 In the run-up to that, we have begun tagging news stories on LabourStart as being relevant to the climate crisis and will soon be able to show a page, updated regularly, of these stories.\u00a0 More details coming soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canadian news page:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/news\/country._php?country=Canada&amp;langcode=fr\">French version<\/a> had a problem with outputting province names in French &#8212; this has now been fixed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Global solidarity conference:\u00a0<\/strong>We continue to discuss this with potential partners in three countries.\u00a0 Nothing has been finalised yet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>News:\u00a0<\/strong>Our volunteer correspondents posted\u00a0<strong>984<\/strong> in the first\u00a0<strong>14<\/strong> days of August.\u00a0 This is a time when many unions take a holiday and union websites often feature very little news &#8212; so getting an average of over <strong>70<\/strong> stories a day is excellent work by our volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Podcasts: We have revived our podcasts.\u00a0 We released three podcasts in August so far and expect to do several more &#8212; we have been in touch with trade union leaders in Africa and Asia, arranging interviews.\u00a0 All our podcasts are here.
