{"id":3891,"date":"2016-08-03T09:14:06","date_gmt":"2016-08-03T07:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=3891"},"modified":"2016-08-03T09:14:06","modified_gmt":"2016-08-03T07:14:06","slug":"we-close-our-most-popular-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=3891","title":{"rendered":"We close our most popular campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_3892\" style=\"width: 190px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3892\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3892\" src=\"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/3033.jpg\" alt=\"Uktam Pardaev, fighter for human rights in Uzbekistan.\" width=\"180\" height=\"243\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Uktam Pardaev, fighter for human rights in Uzbekistan.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nearly four months after it was launched, yesterday we closed down <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=3033\">our campaign in support of Uzbek human rights defender Uktam Pardaev<\/a>. \u00a0The campaign, which ran in 15 languages, had the support of <strong>10,474<\/strong> trade unionists. \u00a0It was our largest current campaign and one of the rare ones to break the 10,000 mark. \u00a0We are currently waiting to hear what effect, if any, it had on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, our most popular current campaign is in support of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=3039\">UNI activist Orhan Akman who was deported from Peru<\/a>. \u00a0That campaign is due to close in just a couple of days and has <strong>7,632<\/strong> supporters. \u00a0In a couple of weeks we&#8217;ll also be closing our campaign in support of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=3066\">forestry workers in Turkey<\/a>, which currently has <strong>6,676<\/strong> supporters.<\/p>\n<p>All the remaining campaigns have fewer supporters than these three.<\/p>\n<p>So, how do we get campaigns to regularly have 10,000 or more supporters?
