{"id":3802,"date":"2015-11-20T10:59:20","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T08:59:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=3802"},"modified":"2015-11-20T10:59:20","modified_gmt":"2015-11-20T08:59:20","slug":"the-last-26-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=3802","title":{"rendered":"The last 26 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been late with an update because of a family vacation, but here&#8217;s a brief update on the last 26 days at LabourStart.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Campaigns:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>We launched one <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=2876\">in support of a Libyan woman trade union leader<\/a> who wounded in a gun attack.\u00a0 It has 4,662 supporters and appears in 10 languages.<\/p>\n<p>We are about to launch a quite interesting campaign with the probable support of unions in Israel and China. Details soon.<\/p>\n<p>The ILO\/ITUC campaign &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/50forfreedom.org\/\">50 for Freedom<\/a>&#8216; is an important one and we&#8217;ve offered to help promote it &#8212; next week I have a scheduled call with the ITUC to discuss our involvement. The ILO has also shown interest in our involvment.\u00a0 At the moment, the campaign has just 6,338 supporters worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>We also promoted a number of campaigns hosted by unions and others including: Amnesty International&#8217;s campaign in support of a jailed Bahraini teacher union leader, several IUF campaigns, an Avaaz campaign by UN workers, and the European Transport Workers Federation European Citizen&#8217;s Initiative.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Conference:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The date is set and the rooms reserved for our Global Solidarity Conference in Toronto in May 2016.
