{"id":2807,"date":"2013-02-26T14:11:18","date_gmt":"2013-02-26T12:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2807"},"modified":"2013-02-26T14:12:30","modified_gmt":"2013-02-26T12:12:30","slug":"the-shock-of-the-new-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2807","title":{"rendered":"The shock of the new [3]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve made the following changes &#8211; as you all suggested &#8211; to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/2013\/\">the new version of the website<\/a> today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The site slogan is once again below the logo.<\/li>\n<li>Global news stories have a new title (not &#8216;breaking news&#8217;) and have been highlighted with a red border.<\/li>\n<li>The additional news stories line for each country has been bold-faced.<\/li>\n<li>The bottom menu bar includes links to correspondent login, applying to become a correspondent, and join the mailing list (this was already there).<\/li>\n<li>The icons for emailing us and the various social networks have been moved further down the page.<\/li>\n<li>The unnecessary &#8216;photo of the day\/week&#8217; header has been removed. \u00a0This would have caused confusion as we were never sure how often we updated this and we shouldn&#8217;t commit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is still more to do &#8211; making sure that everything that was accessible from the previous home page is also accessible here (e.g., newswires) and making sure this will work in other languages &#8212; taking into account that there significant differences between how the different languages work. \u00a0Masha has also offered to come up with a new logo later this week. \u00a0But we&#8217;re getting close, I think.<\/p>\n<p><em>P.S. &#8220;The shock of the new&#8221; is a great title &#8211; I lifted it from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Shock_of_the_New\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve made the following changes &#8211; as you all suggested &#8211; to the new version of the website today: The site slogan is once again below the logo.
