{"id":2673,"date":"2012-11-14T11:56:57","date_gmt":"2012-11-14T09:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2673"},"modified":"2017-08-03T10:57:23","modified_gmt":"2017-08-03T08:57:23","slug":"why-people-arent-buying-our-book-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2673","title":{"rendered":"Why people aren&#8217;t buying our book of the month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>48 hours after I sent out the mailing about our <a href=\"http:\/\/commerce2.pair.com\/unionist\/ccp7\/index.php?app=ecom&amp;ns=prodshow&amp;ref=whichside&amp;mktsrc=labourstart\">second LabourStart Labour Book of the Month<\/a>, we had almost <strong>1,800<\/strong> (of 75,000) people click through to learn more about the book.<\/p>\n<p>But of those 1,800, only <strong>25<\/strong> actually bought copies. \u00a0In other words, more than 98% of those who clicked through and looked at the book decided not to buy it &#8212; or not to buy it immediately.<\/p>\n<p>We can speculate from now until the end of time about why people aren&#8217;t buying the book (the price of shipping outside the USA comes to mind), but we can also do something better thanks to fabulous tools like MailChimp and SurveyMonkey.<\/p>\n<p>We can actually ask those 1,800 people &#8212; <em>and only them<\/em> &#8212; why they didn&#8217;t buy the book.<\/p>\n<p>I did that this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Their answers have just started to come in. \u00a0Anyone who wants to know the results, email me and I&#8217;ll send you the link to follow the poll in real time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>48 hours after I sent out the mailing about our second LabourStart Labour Book of the Month, we had almost 1,800 (of 75,000) people click through to learn more about the book.
