{"id":2640,"date":"2012-10-10T12:40:26","date_gmt":"2012-10-10T10:40:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2640"},"modified":"2012-10-10T12:40:26","modified_gmt":"2012-10-10T10:40:26","slug":"two-campaigns-closed-and-a-win-we-helped-with","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=2640","title":{"rendered":"Two campaigns closed &#8211; and a win we helped with"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ll shortly be announcing two important victories to our lists &#8212; one of which followed a LabourStart campaign, the other was a campaign we didn&#8217;t host, but which we promoted aggressively.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that Said Elahirech, leader of the Moroccan dock workers, has been released from jail and all charges dropped.  (See one news report on this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solidaritycenter.org\/content.asp?contentid=1508\">here<\/a>.)  That <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=1564\">campaign<\/a> was launched on 11 September and generated 5,657 messages from our supporters in 10 languages.<\/p>\n<p>And just next door, in Algeria, our brother Yacine Zaid was <a href=\"http:\/\/cms.iuf.org\/?q=node\/1997\">released<\/a> following an IUF campaign which we promoted with a dedicated mass mailing a week ago.  We helped boost that campaign to well over 11,000 messages, one of the largest the IUF has ever done.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, we&#8217;re also closing &#8212; at the request of the ITUC &#8212; what was a short and sharp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labourstartcampaigns.net\/show_campaign.cgi?c=1592\">campaign<\/a> in support of jailed trade union leaders in Turkey.
