{"id":1517,"date":"2011-04-01T11:01:26","date_gmt":"2011-04-01T09:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2011-04-01T11:01:26","modified_gmt":"2011-04-01T09:01:26","slug":"friday-morning-updates-facebook-page-iuf-victory-video-of-the-year-and-open-rates-for-mass-emails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/blogs\/?p=1517","title":{"rendered":"Friday morning updates: Facebook page, IUF victory, video of the year, and open rates for mass emails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Facebook <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/LabourStartorg\/114200568660597\">page<\/a> went from 0 to 117 likes in the first 24 hours online.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday&#8217;s mass mailing focussed on the <a href=\"http:\/\/cms.iuf.org\/?q=node\/851\">IUF&#8217;s victory in Indonesia<\/a> against Nestle &#8211; driving a substantial amount of traffic to the IUF website as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The number of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.labourstart.org\/cgi-bin\/lvoty\/viewnominatedvideos.cgi\">submissions<\/a> to the Labour Video of the Year has stalled. \u00a0Only 2 new submissions came in as a result of the mass mailing.<\/p>\n<p>17 hours after our mass mailing went out and only 10% of the list has opened the message. \u00a0MailChimp claims that it&#8217;s normal for 20-30% to do so. \u00a0Our best result in the last month in a mailing to the English list was to get 18% to open. \u00a0Any ideas on how we can improve the open rate? \u00a0(It&#8217;s higher for mailings to our correspondents &#8211; as many as 24% will open a mailing. \u00a0Still, that means 3 out of 4 correspondents don&#8217;t open their emails from us.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Facebook page went from 0 to 117 likes in the first 24 hours online.
