General information
Generally, participants will be expected to organise and cover their accomodation themselves.
We will however try to organise some “solidarity housing”, i.e. Berlin trade unionists and activist offering guest beds for free. We will post more information asap.
We have also made block bookings in a hotel and a hostel to make sure you can stay there if you choose so. If you do choose to stay at a hotel in Berlin, please make your reservations early. A number of important trade fairs are taking place simultaneously and the tourism season will be fully on, so many hotels will be fully booked.
And we have put up some recommendations at the end of this page. Couchsurfing and AirBnB have no direct connection to LabourStart – it is just the kind of website we ourselves would use ourselves if we were looking for free or budget accomodation.
Hotels and Hostels
We have made block reservations at a budget hotel and a hostel near the conference venue. Please note that LabourStart is NOT paying for your stay, we are just making sure you are getting a room!
Also note the deadlines for using the block reservations – in the hostel this is as early as end of February.

Solidarity housing
We are working on setting up solidarity housing, that is TU activists from Berlin host participants in their private homes. More information will be available asap. If you are interested to offer a place for a guest to stay, please contact us and do mention it in the registration form. .
If you are interested to stay with a TU comrade during the conference, please mention this in the registration form AND please do also write to housing[at]labourstart.org in order to get our solidarity housing questionnaire.
Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a website which promotes solidarity housing for travelers on a much larger scale than we do – people do offer their guest rooms or sofas for free, in return for reciprocity. If you are interested to join, you can do so through their website. LabourStart has no direct connection with Couchsurfing.
AirBnB and Wimdu
Both AirBnB and Wimdu are website which connect people who need a place to stay (for a fee) and people who rent out parts of their home. This usually is a guest room or a place on the sofa in someones private homes – but sometimes also more or less professionally run hostels advertise on those platforms. LabourStart has no direct connection to neither of them.
