One of the weaknesses of this station is that we've had far too much English-language music, most of it from the United States.
But as LabourStart is a global website currently operating in 15 languages with over 300 volunteer correspondents on every continent, it's time that our radio station reflected our global values.
It's true that we're already playing a few dozen songs in French, Spanish, Dutch, Yiddish, Vietnamese, Korean and so on. But we're going to expand that tremendously in the next few days and weeks -- with your help.
We've just gotten a copy of a two-CD set of labour music from Thailand. The CD is called "Voices of Workers" and you can hear six songs from it on today's Radio LabourStart playlist. Songs we're playing today include "A promise on the mountain," "Brave women," "Covered by the stars," "Dignity of labour," "Dignity of workers," and "Free imagination."
