The main purposes of the mission were to gain a clearer understanding of trade union developments inside Iraq, and to raise key concerns about the reconstruction process with officials of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) and Iraq?s Governing Council.

in its march and rally, to be held on Saturday May 1, in Newcastle upon Tyne. This event is one of the longest established May Day events in Britain and has a strong labour movement and internationalist tradition.
