Trade unions in Iraq: what British unions can do to help
Iraqi trade unionists need our help to rebuild their movement and cope with the problems of violence, unemployment and privatisation. They need money for equipment, leaflets and organisers. They want training on collective bargaining, promoting women inside the union, and dealing with labour law.

The Tyne & Wear May Day Committee has invited the IFTU to participate
in its march and rally, to be held on Saturday May 1, in Newcastle upon Tyne. This event is one of the longest established May Day events in Britain and has a strong labour movement and internationalist tradition.
Assemble at 11:30 AM in Times Square (Centre for Life), Newcastle. March leaves at 12:00. Rally at 1:00 PM Exhibition Park.
