13-04-1919 The first major strike by railway workers on the Dakar-Niger Railway line connecting Dakar to Saint-Louis. A 48 hour work stoppage produced a wage increase of more than 30%. [more]

19-04-1947 A strike on the eve of a visit by the President of the French Republic obtained an agreement on a unified framework for railway workers, and the maintenance of 3,000 jobs. The employers then thwarted the negotiations, causing a wave of strikes. [more]
